- Dating Profiles On This Site Are Completely Artificial (Fake)
- Bogus Email Messages Are Sent By A Software Program
- Bogus Instant Messages Are Sent By A Software Program
- Fake Members Are Actually Staff Members Of The Company
- No Physical Meeting Will Happen Between You And The Online Cupids (Artificial Member Profiles)
This Is NOT A Dating Service, It's An "Entertainment" Service:
Did you know that AffairHookups.com labels itself as an entertainment service NOT a dating site. When you agreed to use this site you needed to agree to the terms and conditions and in the terms they state that AffairHookups.com is "designed in the form of a personals dating service however it is an entertainment service". They say that all the profiles are provided for your amusement and entertainment. So, what's happening is they're telling you this isn't a dating site, and that you can't really meet anybody on the site since the site actually isn't created for you to meet real people. Read the phrase copied from the terms and conditions to read what they say.
Taken from the terms page:
"FOR AMUSEMENT PURPOSES ONLY: You understand and accept that our site, while built in the form of a personals service, is an entertainment service. All profiles are provided for the amusement and entertainment of our members and our users. You understand and accept that our site, while built in the form of a personals service, is an entertainment service. All profiles are provided for the amusement and entertainment of our members and our users."
Dating Profiles On This Site Are Completely Artificial (Fake):
Dating profiles on this site are artificial, the website has termed these dating profiles "Online Cupids". These fantasy profiles are used throughout AffairHookups.com. If you see an online Cupid logo next to any profiles on this site then you know that particular profile is an artificial member. They are not really a member of the site. Their profile has been created by the staff and then used to deceive real members such as yourself into believing the profile you are viewing is actually a real person. While doing research for this review we checked out a number of the female member profiles and they all came back as "Online Cupids". We actually couldn't even find one real female member on this site, they were all "Online Cupids"!
You can read the website explanation of "Online Cupids" right here. This was taken directly from the terms and conditions of the site so this is straight from the source.
Taken from the terms page:
"THIS SITE USES FANTASY PROFILES CALLED ONLINE CUPIDS®: You understand, acknowledge, and agree that some of the user profiles posted on this site may be fictitious and operated by the Site or its contractors. These profiles and related messages are conspicuously labeled with the Online Cupids logo . You understand, acknowledge, and agree that the information, text, and pictures contained in the Online Cupids® service profiles do not pertain to any actual person, but are included for entertainment and educational purposes only. Life events, experiences, interests, and geographic locations are fictitious. Nothing contained in any Online Cupids® service profile or message is intended to describe or resemble any real person – living or dead. Any similarity between Online Cupids® user profile descriptions or images and any person is purely coincidental..
Bogus Email Messages Sent By A Software Program:
Once again referring back to the terms and conditions we were able to identify other scams such as automatically generated email messages and correspondence sent to their members. These bogus emails are sent by a software program. A robot is actually responsible for sending out bogus emails to free members of this dating service. These computer generated messages are sent to multiple people at the same time as you receive them. And it's easy to identify these phony emails because they have the Online Cupid logo attached to every email message that we received.
You can read what the website states about their use of these automated emails right here. This paragraph was taken directly from the Terms and Conditions page (Section 9c3).
Taken from the terms page:
"Messages sent from our Online Cupids® service may be automatically generated with no human involvement, and Online Cupids® messages and/or correspondence may be generated by third-parties hired or contracted by Us. The Online Cupids® service is also intended to proactively monitor user activities and other communications to ensure compliance with Our Privacy Policy, internal operating policies, and Our Terms and Conditions."
Bogus Instant Messages Sent By A Software Program:
Using the exact same type of software this website also sends artificial instant messages to their members. These instant messages look real, but they're completely phony. The software program has been designed to copy the responses of a real person and send instant messages and the same phrases that a real person would send out. So it's quite difficult for a regular web user to identify if they have been contacted by a robot or legitimate person. The easiest way to identify if you're receiving phony automated instant messages is if you see the Online Cupid logo in the message you received. This will tell you without a doubt that a robot is sending you the messages.
Taken from the terms page:
"You further understand, acknowledge, and agree that, from time-to-time, Online Cupids® profiles may contact both free users and paid users via computer-generated Instant Messages or emails for purposes referenced above. These messages may be transmitted to multiple recipients at the same or similar time(s). Messages from Online Cupids® profiles will contain the uniform designation "Online Cupid" to notify the user that a message has been received from an Online Cupids® profile. In the event the user responds to an Online Cupids® message, either via email or Instant Message, the user may receive one or more additional personal or automated responses from the Online Cupids® profile."
Fake Members Are Actually Staff Members Of The Company:
This site does everything in its power to get your money. This includes using staff members to pretend that they are members of the dating site. These people are employed by the site to chat with you, send you emails and lie to you anyway possible. The end game that they want is for you to buy a membership on this site and that's exactly what will happen because you cannot send or reply to any messages unless you have an enhanced paid subscription.
Taken from the terms page:
"You understand, acknowledge, and agree that some of the user profiles posted on this site may be fictitious and operated by the Site or its contractors. Messages sent from our Online Cupids® service may be generated by third-parties hired or contracted by us. Please also note that a single Online Cupid contractor may be involved with more than one (1) profile on our Site."
No Physical Meeting Will Happen Between You And The Online Cupids (Artificial Member Profiles):
This goes without saying but you can never meet any people including the paid contractors who provide your Online Cupids service. The website admits to the fact that you can't meet anybody. Further providing more evidence that this site is nothing but an artificial dating service where interacting with real people is only possible if they are paid employees of the site. But, in the end this site not designed for you to meet real people in person.
Taken from the terms page:
"You understand, acknowledge, and agree that no physical meeting will ever take place between you and the individuals providing our Online Cupids® service, and that the exchange of messages between you and the Online Cupids® profile is for entertainment purposes, as well as to encourage further or broader participation in our site's services and/or to monitor user activities."
